Episode 88: It’s All Fun and Games Until Someone Loses an Eye (Part 2)

Confused by her need to apology, Hades stands from his chair before kneeling in front of a sheepish Persephone, who bristles under his attention. Persephone confesses that she has been attempting to flirt with him, and that by doing so she has not respected him, their friendship or his relationship with Minthe. Hades attempts to pull her closer, but she pulls away from him and stands up.
“I didn’t think I would ever have such a strong connection with another being! And so fast, you know?”
Persephone
She then goes on to explain that originally she felt she could commit to the criteria for the scholarship but since meeting Hades she doesn’t know if she can. Burying her face in her hands an embarrassed Persephone says that she didn’t expect to have such a strong connection with him. Hades takes her hands in his as she asks him if she is crazy.
Resting his head on her shoulder, he says that he is relieved to hear this as he wasn’t sure if she liked him or whether she was just being nice to him. He then says that she doesn’t need to apologise for this because he made no effort to stop her or himself. Turning away from him Persephone attempts to run away, struggling to share how she’s feeling.
Hades puts his arm around her and directs her to sit down on the couch. She then explains that she needs to be responsible for her actions, expressing that she doesn’t care about Minthe’s feelings whenever she and Hades are together and that she feels guilty that she doesn’t care.
“I really, really don’t want you to apologize for what we have.”
Hades
Persephone then shares that she feels guilty about the terms of her scholarship as she still needs to honor them, and that an intense hand-holding session with the King of the Underworld does quite fit with those terms. Hades apologises as he realises that he’s been intensely holding her hand, and states that she is putting herself under a lot of pressure. Persephone responds by saying that out of everyone Hades should understand the importance of duty. He sorrowfully looks away from her, but smiles coyly as she comments on the fact that both of them are going through some difficult things at the moment.
Holding hands again, Persephone says that they aren’t making the best decisions, which results in Hades pulling away from her, struggling to make sense of what she is saying. Clearly very upset at what she is saying he asks if she wants him to leave her alone. A panicked Persephone pulls Hades closer to look at her and tells him no, but perhaps they could slow down as she doesn’t want to encourage cheating.
She also expresses that she doesn’t want any special treatment at work, not realising, to Hades relief, that the fact she is getting paid is special treatment as interns don’t get paid. She then asks Hades if he can help her with one small favour.
An exasperated Hecate is standing in for Hades during the employee meetings. Whilst listening to an employee complain about company car parking, she sees Hades and Persephone fly past the window, much to her annoyance.
The Dread Queen has arrived, and Kronos is not prepared.
