Episode 64: Dimples
Editor: Annie LaHue
Released: 23 June 2019
Persephone apologizes for not being honest, blue flowers fluttering from her hair all around her. Artemis vibrates with tension at Persephone’s admission of having feelings for Hades, unable to comprehend how Persephone can have feelings for him.
Persephone says he’s “kinda handsome” when he smiles with his dimples. Artemis visualizes him in a comically frightening, lizard-tongued, red-eyed form surrounded by skeletons. Her head falls in her hands thinking about Demeter killing her and asks Persephone about TGOEM and the scholarship.
Persephone says she doesn’t plan on acting on it, then imagines herself baking (perhaps the baklava she just gave him). Artemis runs to the kitchen to gulp down water as Persephone asks if she’s ever had feelings for anyone.
“No, Persephone. I do not think the Unseen One, King of the Underworld, God of the Dead, is ‘kinda handsome.’”
Artemis
As Artemis insists that she doesn’t, Eros materializes in the kitchen, swirling wine, saying that she’s fibbing. Artemis demands how he got in to which Eros says no door can stop him. When Persephone and Artemis look at him skeptically, he admits he got in by the key under the doormat. He says he came in rushing because he sensed an admission of a crush.
Persephone tells them she was going to let her feelings wither over time, that it’s a fantasy. She admits he’s the first person to respect, he smells like a forest fire in winter. She trembles, upset, as she admits she misread him, that she feels like a “child everyone thinks I am,”
The Dread Queen has arrived, and Kronos is not prepared.
