Hades in his home office, smoking a cigarette as he’s typing a letter to Persephone on his typewriter. He is following his therapist’s advice to use this exercise as a way to discuss his feelings in a hypothetical way, and to help him unpack his emotions and gain an understanding of himself. He doesn’t have much faith in the process but he’s willing to try as he doesn’t need to show the letter to anyone.

As Hades is writing, we are shown a montage of what occurred after Minthe showed up at Hades’ door in the rain in the previous episode. He writes that it is weird to admit he has feelings for Persephone, due to the short amount of time he’s known her, and that he’s never been in love before but always assumed that falling in love would happen slowly over time. Hades is crying and smoking as he writes this. Hades recognizes that he doesn’t really know Persephone and that he believes one can’t really be in love with someone you don’t know.

Hades reflects that Persephone has indulged his numerous advances with grace, and the idea of not having her attention is terrifying, as she makes him feel so good. He finds it devastating to think he may never feel that way again. We see Hades in bed with Minthe and she turns to sleep with her back to him. He’s wide awake. He is ashamed of how he feels towards Persephone, as it’s a lot to put on someone so young.

As Hades writes that if they were friends, Persephone would go out of her way to help him, Persephone is seen after Hades had dropped her off. She enters Artemis’ house to see that an angry Hestia is visiting to discuss the tabloid photo. Hades continues to say that her helping him could hurt her, and he doesn’t want that. As Hestia is yelling at Persephone, confiscating the gifted fur coat, Hades is writing that the best thing he can do for her is to give her space.

So, he’s going to give his relationship a chance and commit to Minthe. He clearly recognizes that he could be committing to her for the wrong reasons, but she needs him and Persephone does not. He believes that Persephone has her own life, goals, and a community to support her. This is in direct contrast to how Hestia is scolding Persephone and her clear state of upset. He notes that Persephone is still melancholic but that as she’s Demeter’s daughter, she’ll be tough. He wishes he could make space for her in his life, clearing out a dresser drawer for her, but it’s better for him to limit his contact with her. Persephone is crying and holding the comb he had just given to her, appearing glad that Hestia did not confiscate it, as well.

Hades vows to try to keep Persephone safe in his own way and ends his letter wondering how her name changed from Kore to Persephone. We see she is resting on the roof of the house, smiling at the comb.

Hades still feels poorly, and feels like the letter exercise didn’t help. He puts the letter in a desk drawer, and decides it’s time to address the issue of the tabloid photo. He makes a phone call, wanting to avenge the slight against the Goddess of Spring.
