Episode 19: A Fifth of Gin
Editor: Bekah Caden
Released: 1 July 2018
Hades realizes the other club patrons are staring due to his outburst with Poseidon and lets his brother go. He admits that he can’t put two thoughts together when he’s around Persephone, but insists all they did was talk. He blames Zeus for cutting his time with Persephone short due to brunch and doubts she would be interested in him anyway.
He mentions focusing on Minthe instead.
At the mention of Minthe, his brothers groan in annoyance. Hades pulls out a small black box and reveals that he was going to propose to her but is having second thoughts. At his brothers’ shock, Hades explains that Minthe would make an “okay” Queen of the Underworld. Zeus tells Hades that he should be looking for an excellent Queen, not just an “okay” one. Hades reluctantly agrees, and crushes the engagement ring into dust.
“What you want is an excellent Queen of the Underworld. Not an ‘okay’ one.”
Zeus
Zeus asks about Persephone again, and Hades says she has “a melancholic quality I can’t quite put my finger on.” Zeus scoffs and claims at the party Hades said he wanted to “live between her thighs.” At first Hades denies saying something so crass, but then he admits that he’s not fussy and Persephone can “go on top.” The brothers laugh but are interrupted when the nymph who had been serving them transforms into Hera. In disguise, she’d been spying on them.
The Dread Queen has arrived, and Kronos is not prepared.
