The Titans
The Titans are the deities that preceded the Olympians, and are the parents to the gods and goddesses. The Titans are the children of Heaven and Earth. They were overthrown in a war known as the Titanomachy.
Kronos
Kronos is the father of Hades, Poseidon, and Zeus and is husband to Rhea. He was the King of Titans during his time. Minthe stated he “was the greatest tyrant ever known.” He devoured his children, except for Zeus, for fear that he would be overpowered. He is currently imprisoned in Tartarus, which is the bottom part of Tower 4 in the Underworld.
Prometheus
In Mythology, Hesiod wrote two legends about the titan Prometheus. Zeus punished him for gifting fire to the mortals: he is chained in Caucasus and an eagle is sent to eat his immortal liver. Another myth is that Prometheus warned Pandora not to marry Epimetheus before she opens the jar that unleashed evils, dooming humankind.
Helios
Helios is the Titan god of the Sun. He first appeared in Episode 25. Rhea tells a young Hades that he “travels around the world once a day.” He is currently chained and pulled around by sun gods, Astreus and Apollo. In Episode 109, it is revealed that Helios witnessed the event that caused Kore’s name to change into Persephone, or the “Bringer of Death.” Demeter tried to bribe him into secrecy.
Metis
Metis is a mother figure to Hera, Demeter, and Hestia. She appears in Episode 78, where she asks a young Hera to take care of a wounded Hades, who was just released from Kronos. In Mythology, Metis was Zeus’ counsel during the Titanomachy. In Lore Olympus, Demeter reveals that Zeus consumed Metis in order to defeat Kronos.
Styx
Styx appears in Episode 57. Hades says she is the “Underworld’s Most Powerful River” and she carries all the boats further into the Underworld for judgment. In Mythology, Styx assisted Zeus during the Titanomachy, including all her children. She was then rewarded by Zeus into streaming the agent of oaths that bind the gods.

Hades has a terrible nightmare, and despite Persephone’s assurance all is well, there may be some truth to it after all.
