Released: 22 December 2019
Persephone, peering through the glass sees Hades’ in his Galaxy form as he is returning Alex’s eye. She loses control of her powers and transforms into her primal form with two large tree branches growing out of her shoulders. Her transformation affects all plant life in the immediate vicinity, making flowers in another patient’s room bloom and all the cherry trees nearby blossom unexpectedly. There is then a series of panels of people’s responses to the unexpectant blossoms, including Ares walking in the woods, Eros and Ampelus by the pool, Hera in her home standing in front of the painting she destroyed, and Hestia on her balcony catching blossoms. At first Hestia has a contented smile which is replaced by a concerned frowned.
Quickly pulling her sleeve down to hide the growths, she agrees to let Hades walk her home. Whilst changing out of the scrubs and into her own clothes Persephone is seen to have shrub-like growths protruding from her shoulders, down her arms and around her thighs. She comments that she doesn’t want Hades to see her like this but it might be the last she gets to casually hang out with him. She puts her dress back on but is frustrated that the growths are still visible, and asks an oblivious Hades if she can keep hold of his suit jacket in the meantime.
Hades steps out of the room, having reverted to his usual appearance and is momentarily stunned to see Persephone, who has also reverted back to her usual appearance, on the floor with bunches of blue and pink flowers around the room. Hades asks if she is ok and she says she’s just overheated. Hades becomes concerned that she is unwell and reaches out to take her temperature which results in a blue crown of roses blooming on her head. She pulls away before embarrassing herself further. Hades offers to walk her home, to which Persephone declines at first. Her powers are not under control and flowers appear at her elbow just below her sleeve hem.
Say anything! She shared her feelings with you and you’re giving her nothing.
Hades
As they head out, Hades notices the change in the trees nearby. As they are walking Persephone suggests discussing appropriate boundaries, although neither of them seems pleased to do so. They agree to no communication after 9 pm, as it is considered too romantic, no touching or being alone together. A worried Hades asks Persephone if this is what she wants, and tells him that this is not what she wants but they have almost kissed 3 times. Persephone asks him if he has any better idea, but he doesn’t respond, acknowledging internally that Persephone has shared her feelings with him but he hasn’t been forthcoming with anything.
He agrees to respect her wishes, and Persephone appears to be somewhat disappointed that their time together is over. Hades tries to say something but panics, and tells her he’ll see her in the office, all the while internally screaming at himself for being a coward as he turns to walk away. He decides to tell her how he feels and he runs after her. He knocks on the front door only for it to be opened by a confused Hestia.
The Dread Queen has arrived, and Kronos is not prepared.
