Episode 75: Fate

Editor: Annie LaHue
Released: 8 September 2019

Persephone is in her bedroom, thinking about leaving TGOEM. She feels guilty about using the scholarship, even though she knows she can’t be in TGOEM any longer. Then she sees a small post-it (clearly added by Hades) in her Underworld Internship booklet, indicating that she will get paid.

Hecate scolds Hades about interns not getting paid, to which Hades replies that Persephone is a guest in his realm, and that she is a ‘beautiful lady who needs beautiful things.’ Hecate tells him to not let HR hear that.

Upon discovering this, Persephone gets excited about the prospects of being able to pay back her internship, and imagines scenarios wherein she is essentially free and could do whatever she wanted, such as getting her ears pierced and going on a date.

At the Fates’ office, Hades tries to charmingly request a memory. The Fates are three sisters, Clotho, Lachesis, and Atropos, who record the memories of gods and decide the fates of Mortals. They are older than Hades, calling him Youngblood, and they tease him about how forgetting a memory concerning a young lady due to drinking too much wine. Usually, they require consent from all parties in the memory, but Clotho decides to make an exception for Hades this one time. They also ask him to bring some of the wine.

When her sister asks her why she made an exception for Hades, Clotho says is natural for a King to be curious about his future Queen.
