“Hey Demeter! We traded your daughter to Hades for a set of golf clubs. No takesies backsies!”

Hera

At her home in Olympus, Hera gets dressed. She has scars on her torso and looks at them self-consciously while deciding what to wear. Once dressed, she descends downstairs, where Zeus cheerily greets her. She walks past him and silently flips him off. He follows her, trying to goad her into talking to him, but she continues to give him the silent treatment.

She asks Zeus why he couldn’t have just taken her side at the brunch, and Zeus asks if she really needed to show Hades the photo of Persephone and Apollo together. Hera tells him to go talk to Thetis if he really just wants someone to blindly agree, which quickly angers him enough to cause lightning outside. This just makes Hera angrier, and she storms off, only for Zeus to command her to stop.

He then begs her to understand that Hades really likes Persephone, which is not like him, so what’s the harm? Hera brings up the age difference, which Zeus doesn’t see as a big deal. Hera then asks how he plans on explaining this to Demeter, something which clearly makes Zeus uneasy. He responds that he thought Hera could talk to her instead, which frustrates Hera even more, since now he wants her to take the fallout for his decision. Zeus accuses Hera of “being a pain on purpose” since she’s never been bothered by delivering bad news. Hera angrily yells that it’s not fair that he gets to do whatever he wants. She then quietly asks him when has he ever been afraid of his wife’s opinion.

As Zeus storms off after their fight, Hera spots her daughter, Hebe, waiting on the stairs. She reminds Hebe that lurking is “a pervert’s sport” and gratefully accepts the gin and tonic her daughter brought her. She tells Hebe that they are expecting a guest, and the panel shifts to Persephone outside of their home.
