As Persephone busies herself in the kitchen, Hermes and Apollo sit in the living room. Hermes laughs at Apollo because he’s irritated that Persephone clearly doesn’t like him. Artemis walks in and scolds her brother that he’s embarrassing her and to stop annoying her friend.

Back at Artemis’s home, Persephone helps Artemis put away the groceries. She says she thought Artemis didn’t allow men in her home, but Artemis says it’s because Apollo is her brother. She further says that Apollo is simply trying to look out for Persephone in his own way.

Persephone doesn’t say anything, but instead offers to make dinner in the crockpot.

“I know that I’m relatively young in comparison to everyone else. But I still have to be responsible for myself.”

Persephone

Apollo ignores this, instead of pointing out that her outfit is revealing and tells her to cover up. Artemis responds that his face is stupid and maybe he should cover-up. Their argument is interrupted by Persephone, who appears in the doorway crying, having cut herself by accident. Her hand is wrapped in a dishtowel, which is stained golden with ichor (the blood of the gods).

Apollo offers to help Persephone, while Artemis and Hermes leave the room to look for a first aid kit. Apollo puts his jacket around Persephone’s shoulders, which does not impress her. He picks her up and places her on the counter, which she objects to. He tells her he wants to start over, and that he knows he can be moody and abrasive. He says that he’s frustrated Persephone doesn’t realize she was in danger with Hades. Persephone replies that she may be young, but she still needs to be responsible for herself and should not need to be watched. Hermes arrives with the first aid kit.
