Episode 129: Overgrown Pt.2
Editor: Bre Boswell
Released: 1 November 2020
Persephone remembers her encounter with Apollo days before and the threat he made as well as calling her a minor goddess. After their argument, she returns to her room and collapses. Tree limbs grow from her back, and she accidentally crushes her phone. Trying to calm herself down, she resolves to take some time and make a plan.
She packs a bag, writes Artemis a note, and heads to the Underworld.
Persephone checks into a cheap motel using her true identity. She plans to use the money she was going to pay back her TGOEM scholarship to rent an apartment of her own in the Underworld so she doesn’t have to worry about Apollo.
The broadcast interrupts her plans, and she loses control again. Trees and vines sprout from her body and hair. The motel desk clerk demands she open up the door, so she flees out the window. Finding a junkyard, she hides inside an abandoned car.
“I didn’t mean for this to happen. I’m so sorry for making you worry.”
Persephone
The giant, growing roots cover her, and she seems to fall into a dream state. She floats in a blue greenhouse underwater.
Hades’ voice cuts through her inner thoughts, the words he said in the pool trying to rouse her. She sees him reaching for her first as a voice, then a moth, then himself in mortal realm attire.
She wakes up, and Hecate takes her to a guest bedroom to rest. The cleanup crew leaves.
Hades and Hecate discuss Zeus, and she claims she’s not afraid of him, and he can “kiss my blue ass.” Hecate also admits she “might have” known about Persephone (likely the Act of Wrath).
Hades brings a hot drink to the guest room and finds Persephone awake and wanting to talk.
