Episode 05: Sweet Revenge

Persephone leaves the bedroom that she woke up in, exploring her surroundings to figure out where she is. She comes to a window and is surprised to see that, despite it being 9:00 in the morning, there is no sunlight outside.

When did you stop seeing the best in people? When did you forget about kindness? When did you forget about love?
Eros

Aphrodite tells Eros to check himself and that he still owes her for the Psyche incident. Aphrodite explains her plan: She wants Hades to find Persephone drunk in his car so he will be disgusted and regret praising her beauty, also hoping Persephone will see Hades as a creep. Eros is embarrassed for his mother and wonders when she stopped seeing the good in people.

On his way home, Hades finds a sleeping Persephone in his back seat. When he arrives home, he carries her inside and helps her drink a glass of water. Placing her in a bedroom, he apologizes for manhandling her and describes what he’s doing as he takes off her shoes and tucks her into bed.

As he leaves the room, Persephone starts crying. After he rushes to her side, she asks him not to tell her mother how drunk she got, as she will make her come back home. Hades assures her that he will not snitch to Demeter about what happened, and Persephone falls asleep with a smile on her face. Hades steps out onto the balcony, and blames himself for the current situation, realizing that Aphrodite must have overheard what he said at the party.
