Other Deities
The Primordial Deities
Ouranos
Kronos is the father of Hades, Poseidon, and Zeus and is husband to Rhea. He was the King of Titans during his time. Minthe stated he “was the greatest tyrant ever known.” He devoured his children, except for Zeus, for fear that he would be overpowered. He is currently imprisoned in Tartarus, which is the bottom part of Tower 4 in the Underworld.
Astraeus
In Mythology, Astraeus is the Titan god of stars, planets, and the art of astrology. His name translates to astraios in Latin, which means “of the stars.” He was married to Eos, goddess of the dawn.
He appeared in Episode 109, pulling the Titan god Helios back to the checkpoint. Apollo claims he was finishing up with dusk. Astraeus is one of the few deities who can withstand Helios’ immense heat.
Selene
Selene is the goddess of the moon. She is often identified with Artemis and is the sister of the sun god, Helios.
Selene is briefly mentioned by Artemis in Episode 154. She says that the moon in the presence of the sun is “one half, but not a true equal.”
Erebos
Erebos appeared in Episode 164. He is darkness, and is a deity with no physical form. When Hades first goes to the Underworld, Erebos asks him for a sacrifice in order to become King of the domain. He tells him to eat the pomegranate from the tree in Tartarus.
In Hesoid’s Theogony, Erebos is the offspring of Chaos and is the sibling of the titan, Nyx.
Demeter sneaks into Hecate’s home and explains her theory about fertility goddesses that cracks the story wide open.
