Episode 55: The Tour (Part 3)
Editor: Annie LaHue
Released: 21 April 2019
Hades welcomes Persephone in the gateway from the mortal realm to the Underworld. Persephone looks around her and tells him it looks like a lobby, unimpressed. She asks Hades where the dead bodies are. Hades looks at her. With a smirk, he tells her that it’s not exactly what they do here. He explains that they need to get changed into mortal realm attire before entering.
Shyly, Persephone says she doesn’t have anything suitable to wear with her. Hades leads her to the counter and tells her it’s not a problem, the woman will sort her out. He will meet her on the other side.
Meanwhile, back in the main office, Hecate muses to herself that she lied about double booking. She’s waiting for a sale to load on her computer for a limited edition jacket, since only 3 are being made. Unfortunately, loud voices interrupt her from the stairs. Hecate sighs to herself, “Please Gaia, not the brats.”
Hecate glares at both of them and crosses her arms. She addresses Minthe first and says that whatever she and Hades do outside of work doesn’t affect her decision-making process. She asked Hades to take Persephone on a tour because they needed to do damage control after what happened in Tower 4. Minthe fidgets with her fingers and avoids Hecate’s eyes. Hecate goes to firmly tells Minthe that this is a place of work and not high school fucking prom. She turns to Thanatos and tells him to at least wipe the baklava crumbs off his jacket before he complains about Persephone. She asks Minthe to leave as she needs to talk to Thanatos privately.
Minthe storms into Hecate’s office and implores Hecate to explain why the “little pink bimbo” is now employed in the Underworld and why Hades has to show her around. Hecate sadly looks at the screen and realizes she missed her mark in buying the limited edition jacket she wants. Thanatos interrupts Minthe and asks why Persephone is working in the library. He says it’s pretty sketchy that not only Persephone is suddenly employed, but also has a coveted position. He imagines a situation where Persephone is asking Hades for a job she’s fully unqualified for in a mini dress, and Hades tells her, “Sure thing, kitten!” Thanatos continues, saying that he’s heard Persephone was raised in the mortal realm, so she’s probably no smarter than an entry-level shade.
Persephone asks the rental lady counter if she could get a change of clothes. The lady is watching a make-up tutorial video. She asks for Persephone’s size. Persephone replies “Small/Medium” with a smile. The lady says they have a small and a medium, which one does she need. Persephone stammers and says Medium. The lady hands her the clothes, Persephone tells her thank you, and she heads to the changing rooms. Before she goes, the lady tells her not to lose them or else it will come out of her pay.
While walking away, Persephone wonders how she could possibly lose her clothes.
The Dread Queen has arrived, and Kronos is not prepared.
