Zeus is at work, musing that Hera is hiding something from him, and considering turning into a bird to spy on her. Though she’d be furious if she found out he did that, he grumbles whether it even matters since she doesn’t have any respect for him these days anyway.

Thetis enters Zeus’ office to seduce him. They kiss and Zeus tells her he feels like she’s the only being he can make happy. Thetis tells him that what would make her happy is for Zeus to talk to Hades about the Persephone situation, offering to schedule a meeting for them.

Zeus is taken aback, and wants to know why she is so desperate for this to happen, asking if she thinks he can’t handle it on his own. He gets angry, emitting lightning, and storms out of the office, declaring he will get to the bottom of the Persephone thing himself.

“What do you know about the Goddess, Persephone? Like, did you happen to see her get super big, and go on a bloodlust-fueled rampage?”

Zeus

When Demeter’s away, the nymphs play. In the Mortal Realm, some of Demeter’s nymphs are taking a break and bathing in the lake. Zeus appears, and they promptly scream and grow items at him, glaring. He asks them what they know about Persephone and her act of wrath. They evade his questions and give him no information.

In the Underworld, Hades and Hecate have scoured (and been extorted at) almost every pawn shop in the city, with no luck on information about Persephone. As they walk to the final pawn shop, Hades stops dead, thinking he sees Persephone down the street, but it is actually just a pink nymph. Hecate reminds Hades that Persephone is tough, and they reminisce on how far the Underworld has come from when it was barren space.

Hades asks Hecate if she misses the way the Underworld used to be, and she acknowledges that she does miss the “unique brand of primordial chaos” but does also like the creature comforts of the “neo-Underworld,” and her centuries-long friendship with Hades.

Hades shares that he watched the Fates tape, but it left him with more questions than answers, as Persephine asked about getting souls out of the Underworld. He asks Hecate about why she gave him the letter in the first place, since it’s unlike her to get involved, but Hecate laughs and says the truth always carries some chaos.

A short being yells at them to stop blocking the crosswalk, and as she walks past them, Hades spots that the being is wearing the comb he gave to Persephone.
