Episode 118: No Respect

As Artemis and Eros argue over a map, Ampelus heads into the kitchen, offering to help Hades with the dishes. Hades realizes that they’ve met before, when he chased her and Aphrodite through a parking lot. Hades asks Ampelus if Eros has noticed yet that she is mortal, and mentions he finds it strange that no one else has noticed. Ampelus confesses that she believes Eros is never going to see her, but Hades tells her to not lose hope, saying that the love-gods are insightful about everyone but themselves.

Eros drives Ampelus and Artemis out of the Underworld. Eros thanks Ampelus for coming with him, and apologizes for always monopolizing her time. She teases him that he should be sorry, because he’s terrible, and they share a giggle.

In the backseat, Artemis lays down, thinking of various times when Persephone made it known that she was uncomfortable and Artemis ignored it. She asks Eros if Persephone is really unhappy, and Eros tells her that Persephone needed more of her help than Artemis realized. Artemis explains that she wanted to give her space and freedom. She suddenly realizes, in a panic, that Demeter will be back tomorrow, and that both Demeter and Hestia will kill her for losing Persephone. Eros points out that it’s not clear that Persephone is actually missing, and they should give it a few days. And, in the meantime, he has an idea of what to do about Demeter.
Outside of a pawn shop, Persephone stands in the rain, as the person behind the counter examines the comb Hades had given her after the incident in Tower 4.
Meanwhile, Zeus is sitting in a restaurant, and pondering the fact that everything Minthe, Thetis, and Thanatos told them happened right under his nose, and the lack of respect that he is shown. As he goes home, he thinks about Thetis asking him if he’d involve Hades, and wonders if Thetis thinks he can’t handle it on his own. He texts Hades for drinks, but is blown off.
When he arrives home, he is greeted to silence, and sees it as another example of how no one respects him. He comes upon Hebe watching TV and tries to engage with her, but she is angry at him for sending Ares away. He leaves Hebe to look for Hera, and hears her on the phone calling him an “arrogant buffoon” and assuring the person on the other line that she won’t share what they are telling her with Zeus. This makes Zeus very angry.
