How long have you done art? What mediums have you tried?

Well, I have done art for as long as I can remember! Up until recently, I only used pencil and paper, occasionally charcoal and painting. When I got to highschool, in my freshman year, my mom bought me a Wacom tablet. It wasn’t until recently that I got an iPad with an Apple Pencil! I’m extremely grateful to have it.

How would you describe your style?

I can’t really say. I believe that my style comes from bits and pieces of other artists that I was inspired by. I would say my style would be casual, cartoony when it needs to be with an intermediate attempt at semi-realism. You can see in my work that I am trying to become more mature in my art.

What drew you to genderbent fan art?

Some would expect me to say something poetic like, “To see how the comic would work if the roles were reversed. If Hades was a woman in the Underworld in a complex relationship with Minthe. What if Persephone was a man and he must get out of his father’s garden that he had made for him.” Or something like that. But I’m going to tell you right now. I just thought one day, “Hey, I wonder what they would look like genderbent!”

I really am fond of the idea of the man being a bundle of sunshine while the lady isn’t for once. Plus I like to draw cute guys xD I believe I have a type!

Tell us your Lore Olympus story. What got you into Lore Olympus? What made you stay?

Let’s see, it was back in 10th grade. Currently, I’m starting my freshman year at college. But back then, the only Webtoon I read was Siren’s Lament. I think I got an ad mentioning Greek mythology. I am very fond of Greek mythology because of Percy Jackson, so when I got the notification, I was excited and intrigued. When I first read Lore Olympus, I really liked it and I got to say I read it in a few days. What made me stay a fan is always wanting to know what will happen next.

If you could body snatch one LO character for a day, who would it be?

If I had to pick, it would be Hades. I lowkey wanna be Persephone, hahaha.

Which Lore Olympus fan art are you most proud of and why?

I am most proud of my genderbent Persephone waking up, a redraw from one of the first episodes. The reason I am proud of this piece is the colors. It really reminds me of the original picture, and that was because of the tools I used on Procreate while doing it.

Any advice for someone looking to build their art skills?

Do not compare yourself to other works of art. Trust me, I have been there, and I still do it today, I am not very proud of it. What you want to do is

  1. Focus on your work

  2. Make sure to use references

  3. Remind yourself that it is okay to make mistakes.

Just as it is okay if somebody is better than you at art, don’t look down on others when it comes to art. Everybody is on a different level than you.

Just for fun: Who did you get on our Hades' dog character quiz? And do you agree?

I got Fudge. I do like to smell nice.
