Cosplay ANY character you want. It doesn’t matter what you look like. Do what will make you happy.

How long have you been doing cosplay and what first got you interested?

I’ve been cosplaying for around 4 years now, though it became a regular hobby of mine about two years ago. What first got me interested in cosplay was when I was blogging about the animated show Young Justice, which my father introduced me to.  I would write and share content and I eventually came across cosplay, posting about different cosplayers to my blog. Doing that really got me interested in the art form. Then, when I went to my first comic con, I got to see all the different cosplays upfront, and I was amazed by how fun it looked and all the creativity that was put into the whole cosplay. I ended up wanting to try out as well!

Who is your favorite Lore Olympus character to cosplay?

My favorite character to cosplay is Persephone! I also really enjoy cosplaying Psyche as her human form, but Persephone is definitely my favorite.

Persephone’s fashion is similar to my taste in style, and I always enjoy putting different looks together. Plus, she’s a cute, pink cinnamon roll, so it’s always fun cosplaying her!

What is the most memorable cosplay you did (doesn’t have to be Lore Olympus)? And why?

Oh man, that’s a hard question. I will honestly have to go with my Perfuma cosplay from Dreamwork’s She Ra and the Princesses of Power. I was able to experience some fun stuff because of that cosplay. First, it was a cosplay that I had completely finished and did an on-location photoshoot for. Both Dreamwork’s She Ra and one of Netflix’s social media accounts shared my cosplay on their Instagram accounts as well. I also was involved in a Pass the Brush She Ra challenge with an awesome group of cosplayers (I was Perfuma). The video was seen by the cast of the show, and they really enjoyed what we put together!

Tell us your Lore Olympus story. What got you into Lore Olympus and what made you stay?

What got me into Lore Olympus was seeing the cosplayers I follow on Instagram cosplay characters from the webcomic. I usually don't check out things just because it’s popular but the designs of the characters intrigued me. After seeing so many Persphone, Minthe, and Hera cosplays, I finally checked out LO and I’ve been hooked since episode 1!

What made me stay was EVERYTHING about the webcomic; the art design, the storyline, dialogue, the romance, and of course the humor. Lore Olympus was my first introduction to webcomics, and I was amazed at how someone can tell a story through this medium.

Persephone is also a character I feel representation through. I can relate to her a lot, so it’s always fun reading her storyline.

What other fandoms are you in? What’s special/unique about the Lore Olympus fandom?

The other fandoms that I’m a part of are most of DC Comics stuff, Pride and Prejudice, and other webtoon comic fandoms (Midnight Poppyland, Down To Earth, True Beauty, and Age Matters). I think what makes the Lore Olympus fandom special and unique is that the fandom is pretty much on the same page about a lot of things. I haven't seen a lot of disagreements and arguing which can be so prevalent in a fandom.

It’s also very cool that LO fans all have different knowledge of Greek myths. You’ll have some who know a lot and some who don’t really know anything about the myths, so there are a lot of interesting discussions going on inside the fandom.

If you could body snatch one LO character for a day, who would it be?

Of course it would be Persephone! Not only do I love her curvy body, her style is so fashionable! She's also friends with Eros and her romantic interest is Hades. It would be so fun and hilarious to spend a day with them!

Any advice for a new cosplayer out there?

My advice to new cosplayers out there is to continue to remind yourself that cosplay is supposed to be fun, to not stress about being perfect and getting attention.

Cosplay because you enjoy it and it’s a great way to stay creative.

Also don’t worry about what character ‘fits you.” Cosplay ANY character you want. It doesn’t matter what you look like. Do what will make you happy.

Just for fun: Who did you get on the Hades’ dog character quiz?

I got J.P! I do agree, I actually say “recovery is not always a straight path” sometimes and indie rock is such a great genre!
