Other Beings
The world of Lore Olympus is fleshed out with many different kinds of beings. Often background characters, the unique designs of these various creatures help to make the realms of Lore Olympus vast and complex.
Satyrs
Satyrs, or silenos, are part-man and part-horse creatures that are known for their rowdiness. Depending on the myth, satyrs may vary in appearance. Some depict them with goat legs.
Alex Petre, the paparazzi for Weekly Nark, and his roommate, Tori, are satyrs.
Centaurs
Centaurs are creatures that are half-man and half-horse. Occasionally called, hippocentaur, these creatures have the head and upper body of a man and the lower body and legs of a horse.
Persephone’s teacher in University is a centaur. He commends Persephone on her excellent work and claims he expects nothing less from a goddess.
Mermaids
Mermaids are sea creatures with the head and upper body of a human and the tail of the fish. Mermaids have appeared in various folklore and myths around the world.
In Lore Olympus, Poseidon has a fascination for his mermaids.
Sphinx
The Olympus Strip club hostess is a sphinx. In Mythology, the Sphinx is a creature with the body of a lion, the head of a woman, and eagle’s wings.
Cerberus
Cerberus is Hades’ three-headed hound. He is known as the beast that guards the gates of the Underworld and prevents shades from going out.
Kerberos is perhaps derived from the ancient Greek words “ker” and “erebos” which means “Death of the Dark.” Other sources say kérberos comes form the Proto-Indo-European word means “spotted.”
Other Beings
Various other beings are found in the world of Lore Olympus, such as gorgons, daimons, harpies, and more.
Animals, such as bulls and cats, are also creatures that are part of the realms.
