Dae is married to @Jason.Rune and studying Art History with a minor in German and History. They are curatorial intern at a museum as well as a member of the National German Honors Society. Dae also runs their own wig styling business @Daelilywigs!
How long have you been doing cosplay?
I’ve been doing cosplay for almost nine years! In 2012 I had some friends that introduced me to the idea of cosplaying, and funny enough my first cosplay was an all body paint cosplay as a Homestuck troll.
Who is your favorite Lore Olympus character to cosplay?
My favorite character to cosplay is Persephone! She is such a sweet and silly character alongside her struggles.
What is your most memorable cosplay?
I think the most memorable cosplay I did was Salem from RWBY at Animazement in 2015! I created the cosplay for her right after her debut and was the first person to cosplay her entire outfit ever. I was so proud of myself getting her done and I felt so badass in her!
Tell us your Lore Olympus story.
About a little over a year ago I actually randomly downloaded Webtoon out of wanting to read some stuff. I heard a little bit about Lore Olympus, so after subscribing to some other webtoons I went ahead and subscribed to LO as well. I started reading it and binged it in a couple days and haven’t stopped fastpassing since! I really love how fluffy it is, I’m a sucker for romcoms!
What other fandoms are you in and, what’s special about the Lore Olympus fandom?
Other fandoms I’m in would include Haikyuu, Sailor Moon, Fruits Basket and I’m currently watching Jujutsu Kaisen!
I think the Lore Olympus fandom is unique in the sense that it's super supportive and nice. At Katsucon 2020, I attended the meetup and I had never been part of one that was so quiet and respectful!
If you could body snatch one LO character for a day, who would it be?
If I could body snatch one LO character, it would definitely be one of Hades’ dogs. I think they are the characters with the easiest lives haha!
What does cosplay mean to you?
Cosplay means a lot to me! It’s been something that made me so many friends and made my crafty brain happy. I love making art!
Any advice for a new cosplayer?
Cosplays will never be technically 100% perfect, but they are perfect as long as you are happy in them! Never be hard on yourself, and remember that it takes time to get better at something!
