How long have you been doing cosplay?

I've been cosplaying for about six years. I started in 2014, the beginning of my Freshmen year of high school. It was more of a hobby that I'd do on occasion. It wasn't until 2017 after I graduated when I started to take it more seriously. It became a creative outlet for my emotions.

Growing up I had really low self-esteem. I find confidence and strength in the characters I cosplay. Cosplaying brings me so much joy, I can be anything and anyone I want to be. Not only that, it also motivates me to stay creative in so many ways.

Who is your favorite Lore Olympus character to cosplay?

That's such a hard one. I've cosplayed so many lovely Lore Olympus characters, and each of them were a lot of fun to put together. I'd have to say the one I'd enjoyed the most would be Amphitrite. She's such a beauty, and her character design is so different from the other women in the series. Even though we haven't seen much from her, every time I do I'm enthralled. And I’m not going to lie, green is my absolute favorite color so that also helped.

What is the most memorable cosplay?

My most memorable cosplay would have to be my Magik cosplay! When I was introduced to the Marvel comic world, Magik immediately stood out. I had to cosplay her.

The biggest obstacle with cosplaying her is that her armour and weapon are her main attributes appearance wise. So building the pieces was a brand-new experience for me. I had to figure out how to get all the parts to stay and decide which materials to use. At the time, I had limited resources, so I had to work with stuff I already had. The building process took about two weeks but man oh man It was so worth it! I felt really accomplished with the final product. After that I decided to dive deeper into costume building, and it's been a helpful skill to have.

Tell us your Lore Olympus story.

Around the ending of 2018, I began seeing a lot of AMAZING Lore Olympus cosplays going around. Not knowing who or where the characters came from, I was intrigued and decided to look into it. I honestly hadn't heard about Webtoon until Lore Olympus. Once I started reading, I couldn't stop. The fact that it's based off of Greek mythology is what really kept my attention, not only that but the way Rachel highlighted each of their personalities and relationships with each other. You're able to see each character in multiple perspectives and each character comes with their own complexities. I love that I'm able to relate to gods, and for that I have to thank Rachel.

They're gods, but they're so human in the way they feel.

What other fandoms are you in? What’s special about the Lore Olympus fandom?

I'm a huge Marvel and DC comic geek! Anything related to superheroes or superpowers, I'm always intrigued. I'm also a huge fan of Creepypastas and horror stories - the scarier the better.

What really separates Lore Olympus from any other fandom is how connected we can be with each other, how we're always supporting each other's theories, art, and cosplays. Even Rachel does her best to show her fans appreciation. She takes time to to acknowledge the fan art, the comments, and questions. She's invested and honestly I find that beautiful.

If you could body snatch one LO character for a day, who would it be?

Perspehone without a doubt! There's something so enthralling about her switch in energy from chaotic evil to pure cinnamon roll lol. And her powers have shown to be absolutely outstanding. It definitely would be an amazing experience.

Any advice for a new cosplayer out there?

Know that you can do it, once you start don't give up. Not everything you create has to be perfect- there is no wrong or right way to cosplay. Don't compare your work to the work of others, everyone creates differently with their own interpretations of a character. As long as you're enjoying yourself and respecting others, it'll be worthwhile it in the end.

Just for fun: Who did you get on the Hades’ dog character quiz?

Lol I got Fudge! I honestly can't complain, I say it suits me pretty well.
