Cerberus barks and scares nearby nymphs. Artemis steps in and tries to calm him to no avail. Persephone approaches and he shoves her to the ground. Much like when he first met her, he seems terrifying but she implores Artemis to “give him a sec to remember me” before she shoots him with an arrow. He gives her a giant lick and does a giant flop nearby. Persephone comforts him, calling him “my baby” before realizing how injured his foot is. She implores him to shrink in size and carries him away, as Artemis and Eris watch on in fascination.
“Hades would never let anything happen to that dog. Which could only mean one thing. All is not well in the Underworld.”
Artemis
Back in Olympus, a much older Storge helps Hebe with makeup and they take a selfie together. They discuss how Hebe had intended to “confront” Zeus about Persephone’s banishment but she admits he “has a way of shifting the conversation.” He tries to encourage her, and she decides to visit her mother and promises to call Storge later.
Hebe finds Hera asleep and wipes her face with a wet rag while talking to her, admitting she wishes she was more outspoken so she could tell Zeus she worries that his decisions are prolonging Hera’s “sleeping sickness.” Zeus is listening in and appears sad.
“We are willing to face the wrath of Zeus, because staying in one place forever is the worst fate.”
Artemis
Back in the mortal realm, Artemis and Persephone visit while Cerberus rests, patched up, nearby. Artemis tells her the story of the Colchian Dragon that guarded Ares secret grove until he was captured by King Aeetes and imprisoned with an iron chain. Even after the chain was removed, the dragon never escaped because he’d grown used to captivity. She suggests Persephone doesn’t have a chain to hold her down. She and the nymphs encourage her to go the Underworld.
