Content warning: discussions and themes of sexual assault and trauma
“I know it takes a lot of courage to be so open about such a traumatic event. Please remember to be kind to yourself.”
Chiron
In her therapy session, Persephone tells Chiron about what happened between her and Apollo. Chiron assures her that what she felt at the time was “freeze response” and that she is not, in any way, tethered to Apollo. She further tells her that she is not defined by her abuse nor her abuser.
Hades waits for her in the waiting room with a bouquet of flowers. The flowers start to wilt and die and Hades apologizes, but Persephone takes them from him and brings them back to life. He asks if Persephone is alright, since she’s been crying. Persephone says not really, but she will be.
They drive home and it’s awkward between them. Hades tries to apologize because he thinks he must’ve upset her somehow by overstepping at the party. Persephone decides she does not want her insecurities to affect her relationships, so she tells Hades that he didn’t do anything wrong.
She tells him about what Leto told her — that Hades and Hera used to be a thing.
The car screeches and stops.
