Episode 09: Gone to the Dogs

Editor: Bekah Caden
Released: 8 April 2018

When Hades tells her about what he said, Persephone laughs uncontrollably, thinking he’s joking. He tries to tell her that she may not be his type but she doesn’t have to laugh. She says she knows she’s only making her feel better. Hades looks taken aback.

Persephone further says that she can’t believe he’d be stupid enough to compare two goddesses, because only an idiot would do that. Hades agrees, grinning.

“Like you’d be stupid enough to compare two goddesses!”

Persephone

Their moment is disturbed by yet another dog, and Hades mutters, “Oh Gaia” even though Persephone looks delighted. Persephone tries to pet the small dog and Hades tries to stop her, but the dog suddenly barks uncontrollably. Hades tries to pull her away, hugging her in the process, and he becomes awkward and flustered.

Persephone looks out the window where other dogs are playing, and she asks him how many dogs does he have. Hades begrudgingly answers 7, but it might be 6 soon, implying he might have to let the little dog go. Persephone asks him what the names of his dogs are, and Hades smiles, surprised and touched by her question.

He names all of his dogs — Cerberus, Cordon Bleu, Mushroom, JP, Fudge, Russell, and Big John.

Persephone is about to ask him more about his dogs when Hades’ phone rings. He picks it up since it’s his brother, Zeus. Zeus asks him to go for brunch and Hades tells him he’s busy, while watching Persephone play with his dogs. Zeus thunders that family brunch is mandatory and Hades complies.

As Persephone is littering kisses on Cordon Bleu (who is displeased about it), he declares it’s time for Persephone to go home. They walk out the front door. Unbeknownst to them, someone is in the bushes, taking pictures.
